Steve Valley is a 29-year military veteran who retired as an Army Reserve Command Sergeant Major. Steve combines his military career with more than two decades serving in civilian senior public relations, public affairs and strategic communications positions within military, government and corporate organizations.
Steve has been a fitness enthusiast his whole life. He grew up a hockey player in Massachusetts. He believes that exercise gives you higher self-esteem, more energy and stronger resilience. His background includes experience in weightlifting, cardio fitness and Krav Maga. He’s also successfully completed the Boston Marathon and The Army Ten Miler road races. The first time Steve performed H.I.I.T. workouts was during Army basic combat training at Ft. Benning, GA in 1985. He’s been doing it ever since.
One milestone Steve holds dear is that he never failed an Army Physical Fitness Test throughout his entire Army career. The Army instilled in Steve the principles of team work, treating people with respect, and maintaining integrity in everything you do. This helped Steve develop a never quit attitude and the importance of achieving goals. Most importantly; never leaving anyone behind. That’s what he brings to Bradenton Boot Camp & Fitness.
As he rose through the ranks, especially upon becoming a First Sergeant and Sergeant Major, Steve discovered that one of the most rewarding aspects of the job was helping people realize that they had it in themselves to not only complete any mission put before them, but also helping them discover that as long as they set their mind to it, they could achieve any goal.
Steve and his wife Lauren have been married for 30 years and Manatee County residents for 16 years. They are the parents of two sons, Alex, a First Lieutenant military intelligence officer serving with the Army Reserve who recently successfully completed his first tour in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel in Kabul, Afghanistan, and Marine Second Lieutenant Sam Valley, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy currently training to be a Marine Aviator.
